Malaysiakini

See A(H1N1) Infection in Malaysia through Data Visualization

Thursday, August 13, 2009 Posted by ETHAN 0 comments
Statistics serves to enlighten and educate people, what's more if it comes with colorful yet visually attractive representation. This interactive graphics concept was first coined by Hans Rosling, a Swedish professor, through a non-profit organization called Gapminder Foundation. For your record, Gapminder has been acquired by Google since then. I know, good thing never slips out from Google scout team.

Using this interactive chart, hopefully public can come to know about the criticalness of A(H1N1) infection in Malaysia primarily. A few points for thought here:

1. The chart projected an exponential growth of A(H1N1) cases in past months and very likely it will continue its uptrend in the near term. Do general Malaysians are well informed of this progression?

2. If Malaysians are aware, yet how well do we comprehend our roles and responsibilities in fighting this highly contagious infection?

3. If one has no answer for the above questions. Do pay a visit to MOH Influenza A(H1N1) website at http://h1n1.moh.gov.my/ for more information.

And now, check out this enlightening data visualization through interactive chart provided by Chartle.net, using Google Chart API. Do play around the parameters and appreciate the brilliant idea! Enjoy...
